Thats what the agents are for.
When you post work on your site the office gets swamped with unwanted calls from members and nonmembers for anything they can get thier hands on. If there is work in an area that needs men. Agents know who to call for thier members to get work. Please keep this in mind when your posting jobs.

i can agree that the agents can get loaded down, but they are to help people, some agents don`t care to help people not in their hall

Are we not ALL here for the same reasons?

Why is it we have to act like children when it comes to manning a job. We will only beat the nonunion companies when we figure out it is truly all for one and we are a Brotherhood!

It should NEVER matter where a brother came from. We all have the same training and skills.

I'm hurt and saddened everytime I hear a BA speak about keeping the local people busy first or manning with " only our people"or I see letters like this. Our local is our COUNTRY., and EVERY Brother is OUR people!

YOU are MY BA. You work for ME and ALL my brothers. Take the call or get out of the job and make room for someone that can, and has the better foresite for making my union stronger, and our country better!

You know Ron... I've thought about it all day now... would you please send me a mail with this dunderheads name and phone number. I believe it's time for him to hear from this disgruntled member!

I have been told on numerous occasions that the BA does not work for me because I do not sign his paycheck and he is certainly correct. However as long as BA's don't work for me I will continue to solicite my own union work to be able to take care of my family. In a hall I recently visited was a sign that stated the 10 ways to kill a union but I didn't see the BA's attittude at the top. May the Lord continue to bless us and may he forgive us of our tresspasses

How many different deductions do you have on your check that go your local, or your District Council. Where do you think that money goes to? It pays the bills- keeps the lights on- pays the phone bills ( land line and ce3ll phones) pays for their cars that the District guys and BA's drive. It pays for thier trips that they take.

Every hour that you work pays for all that AND MORE!

Don't ever be fooled as to who pays the bills around here and keeps the lights on.....IT'S YOU!

Listen to this one men. I was told before LaborDay that this BA from Stuebenville is upset with me because I gave his cell # to another member to help this BA man a job. I don't belong to his local but am a millwright and have worked for him on many occasions. He left a nasty message on my cell phone that we need to get something straight - if I ever give his # out and he hears about it, he'll never work me again. I didn't know that this # was a private # - I thought he had a public job.

I hope you still have that message recorded. If so take it to his boss, and report him for abuse of his power.

We have rights- not only as union members, but as workers, and one of the things as a union member we fight for is to work with-out being abused by our superiors. Not only is this person breaking union rules, but more than likely state labor laws, and is opening himself, and the local union up for a lawsuit............... something you should remind your local Prez when you bring this matter up to him.

Lastly..... ask this numnut who infact pays his cell phone bills...... if it's as most cases and the local/Dist Council pick up the tab.... then it is a public phone number, and SHOULD be given out to every memeber within that local...... you payed for it !


This bs G.O.B club crap has GOT to stop... the more this garbage goes on the worse it makes it for every member out there, and does nothing but give the union a black eye, and weaken us as a whole!

the BA`S don`t want you to get your own work, because you are bypassing the members on the list, by the same ba`s that let the co. call out by name thats don`t on the lu list, as long as the job is man`s why do they care

Fella's, I have been a Union member almost 40 years.And I am here to tell you the B.A.'s and Sec Treass of the councils are acting like Demigods!!! Couple years ago, I asked for a copy of Bylaws etc and was told "YOU cant have them"?????????????? Well, according to the Landrum-Griffith Act of 1959,anyone in the union is entitled to it.So, I went on a letter writing campaign, from Recording Sceretary of my local clean up to G.P. Cash McCarron,sent everone of them by "certified mail.Cost me over 50$. And you know what?? Never got any response.Asked at union meeting, "why was it such a problem getting the information?" President of the local told me "If you were outstanding or upstanding member"forget which one he said, "I would run right over and get you one"
Some of the these "elected" officers are as bad as the "appointed ones" Wll, after I wrote a letter to Elaine Chao, the U.S. Secretary of LAbor, explaining my plight, guess what I got in the mail within a few days?? You guessed it Constitution, Bylaws, even a copy of the GPMA, which I had never seen.Fortunately, I only have about 503 days til retirement. I have fought the B@#%$&ds for the last 25 years and am getting tired of battle. Unless , the Milwrghts reach out and collectively,find their Testicles and get away from the Carpenters, we as Tradesmen are doomed

ba's dont work for members. they work for contractors. lets see siemens versus a member or apm or nps or whoever your ass is gone. Please lets start a petition and sign it. We the brothers and sisters in this union need to organize against. the powers that be. Ba's with different pension. Their pension are funded 100% plus and WE lost 19% in 08. The file members that is. Stop taking this doug shit. START A PETITION RON RON RON.
